"ORDINARY PEOPLE...LIVING ORDINARY LIVES" -
An International Tribute To The Bee Gees

It had long been a dream of ours to produce a Bee Gees tribute album, so when we decided to get a bit more serious with our hobby and we formed the partnership that is now Top Hat Events Management, this project was at the top of the list of projects to undertake.

What better way we thought, for the fans to show their appreciation and thanks to the brothers for giving them a lifetime incredible music, than by putting their own voices together on one album - all of them "Ordinary People… Living Ordinary Lives" who have been touched in some small way by the music of the Bee Gees.

Our only concern was, would there be enough talented musicians amongst the fan base who would be worthy of inclusion? From the first demos which we received, it was abundantly clear that we had, and, as the next few pages will show, our album suddenly had a wonderful international flavour, crossing cultural and language barriers - we've all made many new friends along the way! The power of the internet made us one happy little family in a global village - allowing us all to collaborate on one song, just as if we were popping around to see the neighbours!

The results have amazed us all and we are both incredibly proud of the final result. We're sure there is something for every Bee Gees fan here - let's not forget the brothers' own words "We're songwriters first". The songs are there to be performed, and the treatment given to the songs here, from the more traditional arrangements, to those which have been completely transformed not only showcase the talents of the performers but also prove that the music of the Gibb brothers transcends genre. Indeed, even the contributors themselves, although all of them are Bee Gees fans, defy categorisation within one common genre, with styles ranging from classical to country and blues to heavy metal.

As the lyrics to the title track say, there have been "incredible highs and lows" whilst making this album. On the highs we would like to offer our congratulations to Byl of Diamond Haze on his marriage to NAME, and also to Greg and Laura, both from Diamond Haze on the new addition to their family - welcome to the world Michael! The lows have seen the sad loss of a good friend and fellow fan Viv Hoyle - may we all share her great zest for life - she will be missed. We hope you enjoy this album as much as we all did making it.
