"EVERYBODY
CLAP" - An International Tribute To Maurice Gibb
Following the successful release of Ordinary People…Living
Ordinary Lives in 2002, we had to take some time off
before releasing a second album.
However, the tragic events of Maurice Gibb’s untimely death on 12th January 2003 left everyone in a state of shock. So when the contributors of out previous album asked if we’d put together a tribute album to a Maurice we felt that under the circumstances this was the right and fitting thing to do. All the songs on this album were written or co-written by Maurice and if they were recorded with his brothers, they feature him on lead vocal – making them very much his songs. Each song has their vocal style and culture. Whilst one may think that this was a rather sombre album to make, it was not the case, and the contributors from around the world have once again proved in their reworking of Maurice’s songs just how timeless they really are. The sole concept of this album was to remember Maurice Gibb and to pay tribute to a wonderful singer, songwriter, musician and human being. We hope we have achieved this in some small way and we thank you for sharing it with us. Although Maurice will be sadly missed by us all, we can take solace in the fact that his legacy will live on and his music will remain in the hearts and souls of millions.
